Would you know a termite if you saw one?
Many people do not know what termites look like, so they would have no idea if their home has termites
even if they saw them. We have included pictures of termites to help
you indentify them.
Termites
are usually an off-white, or creamy white color and look fairly similar to a long grain of rice. Termite
swarmers (those that reproduce), have a pair of wings.
Soldier termites look very similar, but they
also have larger heads and little "claw like" pinchers called mandibles.
Termites look somewhat close to the carpenter
ant if not looked at closely.

Carpenter ants have a more hourglass shape
to them, whereas termites tend to have a straight body (like a worm for example). Termites also usually
have straight antennea while carpenter ant antennea are curved.

If you are not sure exactly what termites
look like, you should check out our pictures of termites or look at
our pictures of termite damage.
